Description

Hell hath no fury like the Son of Satan!! fun page from a character that I was not to familiar with as a kid but learned of later when he came back in the 90s .. then really liked in the unfortunately short lived TV series Helstrom . Perlin who gets a bad rap does some lovely work in this issue with the amazing Joe Sinnott brining it to life. Perlin is really not much different then Sal Buscema .. a workmanlike house artist from the 70s but doesn't get the same love as the younger Buscema . Maybe we need to change that! Other things that I really liked about this one.. it's an end page (Cox if you are reading this you know what to do).And how about the tease.. "The Rock and Roll Comspiracy" Guest Starring the Ghost Rider! Ooooo I want to go read that one now!! Overall a real fun page to add to the collection!

Are the defenders from this time collected?? Should I find a reader???

Even if you didn't like Perlin, there's the Sinnott factor that made the Defenders distinctly Marvel.  Very handsome page for this team of characters that needed each other more than they realized.

There are Marvel Epic Collections (this would be in Vol 6), but these ones from the later part of the run are OOP and have a higher aftermarket price tag.

He may be the Son of Satan, but I hear he's not a bad guy!

Great looking 4-panel end page! The Perlin/Sinnott combo is fantastic as usual and every panel has that clean finish. I don't really know what the haters say about Perlin but the Perlin era of Defenders comics were some of the first floppy Marvel comics back issues I ever found/read (while discovering the new release books of the 90s) so I also have fond memories of it.
