One of my goals for 2026 OAX was to get something from Walt. Since I did not attend the preview night that made it a tough one. There was already a line of people who had numbers in line from preview night and I did not have one so I thought I was out of luck.

I happened to circle back by Walt as he finished lunch and nobody else was there. Walt did bring a few pieces with him and the portfolio was sitting out so I was thrilled to get this Beta Ray Bill piece. I got to talk to Walt and Lousie about the Thor 337 cover and the beloved Throg. Walt said he had never brought any pieces to a show before so I really got lucky on this one. Thanks Walt and Louise!!

Pretty smooth! Simonson went over the outline quite a few times to get just the right rounded dimensional look!

This is absolutely -FANTASTIC-, Paul - I love this so much... Walt's finished art always has such an incredible energy about it, but his sketches and prelims blow the finished pieces out of the water sometimes. This is definitely one of those occasions. A great feeling of power and purpose in this piece, with those delicious Simonson lines careening around, yet bent to the will of the artist. Such a great talent (and even kinder gentleman) - terrific OAX pickup, Paul! Huge congrats!
