Description

What If…? Mickey & Friends became the Fantastic Four” #1 - Marvel Comics - Internal Splash Page tav. 13 - 2025.

This is an original ink on cardboard comic art page from the story WHAT IF…? MICKEY AND FRIENDS BECAME THE FANTASTIC FOUR, published under the Marvel & Disney-What If…? crossover series that reimagines classic Marvel tales with Disney characters. This stunning splash page features a highly dynamic composition, showcasing all four superheroes rendered with exceptional plasticity and fluid movement.

Story Overview:

The story revisits the plot of the historic Fantastic Four #1 (1961) but delivers it with a comedic Disney twist. The iconic Disney cast steps into the roles of Marvel's first superhero family:

  • Mickey Mouse stars as the stretching Mr. Fantastic.
  • Minnie Mouse takes on the role of the Invisible Woman.
  • Goofy transforms into the fiery Human Torch.
  • Donald Duck turns into the rocky Thing.

The main antagonist is Peg-Leg Pete as Pete-Man (a parody of the Mole Man). He threatens Duckburg with a subterranean army of Terries and Fermies, creatures that trigger earthquakes by jumping around. This is a direct, ironic homage to Carl Barks' classic Terry-Fermians from the Scrooge McDuck story "Land Beneath the Ground!".

The narrative blends epic superhero themes with classic Disney humor, emphasizing friendship, teamwork, and using one's talents for the greater good.

  • Italian Debut: Topolino #3609, January 22, 2025.
  • Panini Comics Edition: Comic book format, April 30, 2025.

So cool. I do understand making DOnald Ben Grimm, but i kind of feel that he should have been the Human Torch due to being a hothead.
