With the run up to ASM 1000, it's great to look back to see what they did leading up to 800. They pulled out all the stops bringing back the Green Goblin!
Such a great splash. Immonen's Goblin is pitch perfect.
-SENSATIONAL- Immonen Goblin splash, Peter! Man, he looks terrific here; his mask is just the right mix of classic/retro and modernized, and Wade's inking on his scale armor (and flying pieces of glass) is just -outstanding-. So intense is the Goblin that it would be easy to overlook that excellent second panel, with Pete being alerted to incoming danger... In movie commentary tracks, I've heard sound engineers talk about inserting a split second of silence before a huge explosion or audio blast of noise to give the ear a quick chance to reset and let the sound effect land better, and I feel like that's what Stuart and Wade are doing here with panel 2; no backgrounds, just a sensation of realization where we catch our breath before the explosion... And explode it does! Awesome page, Peter - big congrats!
