To me, this is one of the best issues he did from the original run (from a visual standpoint).
Yes. I think it's a definite turning point in the run. Something definitely happened with Jaime's approach that altered the trajectory of the Locas story.
That's a great opening splash that boils down tough times and how dependent we are on each other in the small knit community that are strewn across the country.
So much to love about this page. The textures especially on the Chester Square sign are really something.
One day you will own all the original art that made up L&R!

Excellent Love & Rockets title splash! Everything just feels so real and believable from a small town USA postcard perspective and even the dialogue even though it's a cartooning/comics style. Always good to slip under the radar on the third most in demand piece from the same artist/title in an auction - nicely done!

Wow, this is SO different from any Love & Rockets art I remember ever seeing. First of all, as you pointed out yourself, I can't remember even seeing a full page splash turn up until now, that's how rare this is. But the scene, which appears to take place in the middle of nowhere, is also pretty different from the content these pages typically exhibit. The very fine lines on the buildings and across the sidewalk are also quite different from the typically "less is more" approach of the series, consisting primarily of smooth lines and solid black areas. A pleasure to see something "different" from a Love & Rockets page, as it makes for a nice change of pace.
