The history of the Star Wars 1 comic book movie adaptation compared to A New Hope is quite interesting. In the movie this scene is the very first time we see C-3PO and R2-D2 land on Tatooine and the very first time we are introduced to Jawas. All of this happens before we are ever introduced to Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca or almost any other recurring role besides Darth Vader and Leia. However, in the comic book there are two previous pages that introduced us to Luke but were ultimately deleted from the movie. Page 2 Luke can be seen observing the epic battle through his macrobinoculars and Page 5 he is hanging out with his friends in Anchorhead. Overall, Page 7 is one of the earliest examples of any Star Wars art and one of the more memorable scenes from the movie.
