Sometimes you see a page or a cover and know you just have to have it. For me, it was this massive image of black costume Spider-Man by the cover artist to Amazing Spider-Man 252, Ron Frenz, with inks by Joe Rubenstein. I have searched for years for a Spider-Man cover with Spider-Man in what I would consider to be a power pose, front and center, destroying the enemy with close combat. This is also one of the earliest black suit covers, taking place just one year after the initial creation. There is not a single thing this doesn't have going for it. I can't wait to pick out the perfect frame and find a spot on the wall for its forever home.
And yes...at one point this was only $700. What year do you think it was for sale at this price?
