Apparently Barry Kitson did the pencils for a commission and then liked the layout so much he "went ahed and did a finished piece". The results are spectacular and I was lucky enough to be able to purchase it. Really, with all the variant covers that DC publishes, I'm surprised we don't see more from Mr. Kitson. And shout out to Caitlin Reynolds of his studio for so expertly handling an overseas order.
