Description

Here's the pencil prelim of page 6 and the final page 8. In the Alps, survivors of a plane crash resort to eating each other:

“Help! Help me, I beg you! I don't want to end up like the others, please! Help me! I know you can hear me! Help me! I don't want to die! I don't waaaant to! God damn you! All of you!”

“Lord forgive me… forgive us all, if you can.”

“Get out of the way!”

“Monsters... we’ve become monsters. Let me hold out this time, please. I’d rather die than be like them.”

“I prefer to die…”

“Hey! Here’s your share.”

“I don’t want it. Quit it!”

“What is this? Are you getting finicky now? Yet you didn't act like this with the others. Come on, eat.”

“I said no. I don't want to. I don't want to anymore.”

“Eat or die. Your choice.”

They must have been stuck here a while, to get this desperate. The text does not specify the date of this scene, but later story clues suggest it's sometime in the 1990s.

The pencil prelim says it all as the act of cannibalism is like making a deal with the grim reaper!

what a truly horrific situation that must be. to eat or die, and not want to eat anymore...it is interesting to look at a prelim next to a finished page though

As you can see, the preliminary panels get progressively (or perhaps regressively) less finished as the page goes on.
