The Darkenss was my favorite image title.. unlike all the others (some of which were fun) this wasn't a retread super hero book.. Garth Ennis was firing on all cylinders... Silvestri who I love.. was doing some of his best work. The concept was unique.. the protagonist wasn't really a good guy.. it was part mob story.. part horror .. babes.. and the darklings!!
I've been looking for a great example for about as long as I've been collecting OA .. I looked at this piece on a dealers site for a long time.. it's perfect .. mobster .. babes.. darklings .. And a VDPS!! Wall power with all the correct ingredients. What held me back.. for a while was the big image is not Jackie.. it's his dad.. but if I didn't tell you that you'd have no clue lol.. and really it's Jackie's origin story so it's here and already framed and on the wall!

very nice dps, i loved the darkness and witchblade when they hit stands, this time in comics topcow was killing it, congrats on this one buddy

When it comes to Marc Silvestri art, it doesn't get much better than this. I love the way Marc contrasts the pitch black elements with the lighter ones. I love the the edgy drawings of the Darklings contrasted with the realism of the mobster. And the way Silvestri combines all these elements togther so seamlessly. I have to add that Tim Townsend's inks are pitch perfect. And the whole DPS looks massive! Glorious pick-up, Jason, congrats!
