The artwork masterfully utilizes a horizontal landscape orientation to frame the climatic battle on the ship's deck as detailed in J.M. Barrie's book. Executed entirely in markers and mixed media, the composition is anchored by a high-contrast, low-key monochromatic blue and charcoal palette. A massive flash of lightning cracks open in the background, serving as a powerful light source that carves out Hook's roaring expression, his billowing coat, and his iron hook, while casting an agile, mid-air Peter Pan into a distinct silhouette against the ship's rigging.
