Empress Lilandra Commission - Jorge Garza

I was really struck when I first saw Jorge Garza's Aztec style intepretations of comics characters.  He finds the elements of the character that lend themselves to that art style so well and makes it seem so natural, none I've seen appeared shoe horned or forced.  The colors and designs are fantastic.  

I've always loved Lilandra's design and she's often one of my go-to choices for commissions.  I think he did an amazing job with her and I don't purport to know much about Aztec culture or mythology, but she looks to my laymans eye like she could have appeared on a wall or a ceramic vase from the 1400s.
