10.5x16" artboard w/pen an ink original art six panel page 27 from Superman #247, published by DC Comics January 1972. Pencil art is by comic artist Curt Swan (1920-1996), best known as the artist most associated w/Superman titles during the period fans and historians call the Silver Age of comic books. Inks by Murphy Anderson (1926-2015). Story by Denny O'Neil (1939-2020) "The Private Life of Clark Kent: When On Earth..." Synopsis has Clark Kent (Superman) and Jimmy Olsen dealing w/the subjects of teen gang violence and the woes of smoking. Clark deals with the teens as Clark Kent and doesn't use his abilities as Superman in the story. Only page in story to feature Superman's costume exposed under Clark's cloth as he decides to solve the problem as Clark and not Superman. Last panel is a stat of the original art that is underneath that has a screened effect over the art and white paint overtop for the lighting. The stat is cut around the original word balloons and story page number. Really nice example as to how this effect was accomplished in the printed book. Loose edges on stat allow you to glimpse the art underneath as well. Signed in pen by Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson. Minor tape glue residue in top and bottom margins. Top margin has stamped title w/issue/page number in marker. Back has DC copyright inkstamp. Lt. aging/handling wear. Art remains clean and Exc.
