I think it's a pretty common first stage of an OA collectors journey to jump on a recreation or two when first starting out. Later most of us realize recreations are just human made copies, which doesn't really jive with the "original" in Original Art. I do understand why longtime collectors get recreations by the original artist who are their art heros. "Recreations", not to be confused with "Homages", which are an orginal take on another piece's layout. I often hear semantic blurring of these two different terms.
I'm not sure what ever became of Rusty, but it doesn't look like he continued with comic art. Commissioned 2007.
