Vol 1 Iss 3 (print order). On the morning of 2 May 1968, Special Forces Staff Sergeant Roy Benavidez volunteered to help rescue a 12-man reconnaissance team trapped by the North Vietnamese Army. During hours of bloody fighting, Benavidez was seriously wounded multiple times but still worked tirelessly to defend his comrades and help bring them back. For his actions that day he became a legend in the Green Beret community and was recognized with a Medal of Honor.
