Batman Dark Victory 7 page 11 Tim Sale

Look at me #numberonebatmanfan !! Not really ... actually not at all.. but I did LOVE Batman Long Halloween and Dark Victory.. actually when a none comic person shows mild interest in comics Long Halloween is the book I recommend them reading to try to spark interest. It's also where I decided I was a fan of Tim Sale ... I had seen some of his early work at marvel prior.. but the fit for these Batman projects was absolutely perfect! Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale where magic together.. I could have pursued a page from one of fheir various marvel projects.. but in this case I needed a piece from dc lol. That being said the Batman centric pages command a pretty penny ... but for me that wasn't a need.. when I first saw this page available privately.. I thought it was a good fit for what I was looking for. Alberto Falcone... a main figure in both stories.. the big bad Holiday Killer from Halloween.. a creation of Sale/Loeb and a central figure in victory. With the famous weapon he used.. and Sale's art and feel is evident throughout the page.. the delicate lines and masterful shading.  This could be the one! But when it was offered privately the price was still higher than I was comfortable paying for it (no Batman or costumed villian) .. I seriously considered making an offer I was comfortable with.. but it would have been a sizable discount and didn't want to offend. Low and behold it wound up in a Wednesday auction at heritage.. and I won!! Not only did I win .. but the price all in with BP / Tax/ Shipping was a dollar more then what I considered offering lol. It was meant to be! And I have the example for me!
