The Serpent in the Garden: Ed Grey & the Last Battle for England 3 pg.15 (world of Hellboy)

Nearing the end of their contest, Ed Grey, champion of Avalon, & Gruagach, champion of Morgan le Fay, recall their first meeting at “an odd little pond with a statue of Hellboy.” The second panel is a direct flashback to the Third Wish where the Fairies, along with Ed, watch the fate of Hellboy in the hands of the Bog Roosh. The original panel by Mike is added here for comparison. Ben (& Mike!) did such a fantastic job with this story & especially this last chapter. An incredible ending for these characters. I know Mike probably doesn’t wish to update Hellboy: the Companion, given it was difficult to put together. But so much has happened since it’s publication in 2008 and it seems we have an actual (as much of an actual) end to the story of Hellboy. I think we’d all love to see one.
