Me with Frank Miller

So, I walk into this bar. I was somewhere in Hell's Kitchen, so I'm told later by this guy in the pic. I order a beer. A kind patron in a straw hat (Ernest Hemmingway?)Says "I'll buy that" to the bar-keep and offers his hand for me to shake. I say " thank you, Sir "and offer mine. We exchanged names. Now, problem is I drank sooo many beers that night that I forgot his name but I do remember bits and pieces. I looked at this guy and I said, "I'm familiar with your work, you invented Batman, right??" He said, emphatically, "no". "Right, that was Stan Lee, he invented all the comic characters, I forgot ", I replied. He nodded, and chuckled, I guess in affirmation???( All snide jokes aside,Stan "the man" Lee ROCKS, just share some MORE credit, when it's due, OH Creative One!!)
So I finish my beer, then I bought some rounds. We proceeded to talk about comic book stuff and politicians and actress' we've known. He said he was involved in the comic industry and even told me he knew where Steve Ditko lived, and it was close by. Now, I think Steve Ditko's pretty skippy! So, like a sucker I spent hours buying drinks trying to get him juiced enough to give me the address, so my drunk ass could knock on Steve's door at 2 AM. To his credit he would not give the address up. All said it was good times. I was able to meet him there a couple more times while I was in town, we shared sea stories and I learned some new ways to use old profanities . He drew me a sketch on a cocktail napkin. What a cool guy, but alas, I still have no idea where Ditko lives !
