Wolverine by Bo Hampton

Mr Hampton is an artist I like and read whenever something new is out but wouldn't define as one I'd track down as an art collector.But I must say that his recent ebay commissions have been nothing short of spectacular and often underpriced.So when I saw this powerful piece I couldn't resist.I love the bitter and bulky Wolvie here (makes me think of the way Blevins drew him in the 90s).And the fine linework,inks and the display of light on his mask makes me think a lot of Kaluta's work.A splendid piece so full of mood (the fire,the light,the smoke and shadows) and emotion.
