WHIZ #7, AUGUST, 1940 ISSUE. PAGE 7 OF CAPT. MARVEL STORY. From Captain Marvel's 7th appearance. Published over 1/2 a year before Captain Marvel #1. Quite possibly the earliest existing page of Captain Marvel art. Entire pencils & inks by C. C. Beck. Beck has stated in interviews that he alone did the art for almost all of the 1st year. Pete Costanza and Marc Swayze came after.

This page has a lot happening. The plot to take over
America by the evil Dictator is revealed to an enslaved Billy Batson.... Visions of New York City's tallest building (Empire State Bldg) being destroyed by attacking airplanes.... Billy Batson shouts "SHAZAM".... Lighting Bolt/Thunder.... Transformation to.... Captain Marvel !! Marvel breaks out of the trap.... and takes off after the invader's planes in order to save the day!!!
