Mark McKenna and I have been cordial with each other for years now. At the first Baltimore Comic-Con at the Baltimroe Convention Center (~2001 maybe?), I wasn't exactly sure where I should be going to find the creators and ended up at the far end of Artist's Alley (completely away from most of the creators!). However, Mark had found himself a table there that year and was parked, so I had him sign a couple of comics. We got to talking about his work in the industry and he started telling me about Banana-Tail, a children's book he was working on. The concept was he could leverage his comic book skills and network to put together a great children's books. He'd brought along some of the pages and it looked great. My son was turning just the right age to appreciate it, so as soon as it was available, I ordered it off his website. I sent him a note telling him how much my 3-year-old son enjoyed it, and it's up on his Testimonials section to this day! In 2003, I asked him for a sketch, and he did this nice, clean Spidey head-shot!
