Description

This is the first con sketch Michael Turner ever did of Sonia from "Soulfire." Aspen had just launched, and he was in high spirits all weekend. I read the preview issue, and knew I wanted to get Sonia when he was doing his sketches on Sunday. Her teen appearance stood out from his usual ingenues, and if he was doing quick sketches, that would set it apart. I was thrilled when I got in line and saw the detail he was packing into all of the sketches. I asked for Sonia, and his eyes lit up as he said he had never done a con sketch of her. He put in the work, and then turned around and showed it off to Frank and the guys before handing my book back to me.

It always feels special when I get a first-time sketch from an artist, and this one had the added coolness of being from my favorite artist.

Very, VERY nice. I love it!! Wish I would have gotten something from Mike... Ah, well... it was enough just to talk to him about his books. Congrats, man.
