DescriptionWhen a page from Howard the Duck #1 was offered up I took a good shot and got it! Am I the only one that sees this as a historic book? Great art and classic title too.I found this page reproduced on this comic art site: http://pencilink.blogspot.com/2007/12/howard-duck-1-frank-brunner-art-cover.html 2024 Update, acquired the Prelim so posted as additional image! No, I thought I was only one who thought this book was worthy of anything above serving as a "punchline". This Frank Brunner piece is exceptional. The Spiderman rendering even makes this more special. Congrats.

Fantastic piece, and I too think it is historical, and under rated---incredible rendering by Brunner at his peak...congrats!!

That is a dream page. HTD is on my shortlist of the greatest comics (Steve Gerber was way ahead of his time). As for the art, this is prime time Brunner all the way. I loved Brunner's Howard more than his Dr. Strange even. In fact, I was none too happy at first about Gene Colan coming on board (I got over that quickly enough).

One of the best pages from a comic I remember well.

An exemplary example of the Brunner Duck! Congratulations. Then again, I don't think there is a page from issue #1 that ISN'T exemplary. Such a great book.

That brings back all the excitement I felt when I finally managed to get hold of a copy of HTD #1. The angles are so dynamic, and Howard's uncharacteristic heroism is depicted superbly. Leialoha's inks are just wonderful on Brunner. Amazing page!

Wow! That is a beauty. Very nostalgic to me. If it ever becomes available, please let me know.
