Description
This beautiful commission piece is a very special one to me, as it is a gift for my birthday from my very loving husband. Based on the Marc Silverstri cover to Witchblade #100, it features Wonder Woman presenting me with my birthday cake. Darryl Banks really captures the beauty and elegance of Wonder Woman in this shot, along with her gracious personality. I love the fact she is smiling while she presents the cake, as it falls in line perfectly with how (I feel) the character would respond in such a situation. All the little details, like the balloons, the banner, her party hat, just make this piece one I will always treasure forever! Thanks to both my husband and Darryl for making this piece of Wonder Woman art the most special one of my entire collection.

The smile and emotion really work wonderfully in this. I'm going to be the gentleman that I can sometimes be and not ask you your age, ;) but wish you a Happy Birthday when it comes around again. Now that the bar has been raised so high, how's your husband going to top this? I think it's going to be tough if not nigh impossible. :) congrats

The closest thing to a fanboy gift I have ever given my wife was when I surprised her with an autographed picture of Christopher Reeve in his Superman costume after she admitted to having a schoolgirl crush on him. Otherwise, she has no interest in the hobby. (Oh, and yes, this is wonderful art and it is refreshing to see a friendly smile on a superhero – once, this was not so uncommon.)
