DescriptionGreat conventionsketch by Francois Walthery. Thanks Vincent my friend for this nice gift!!! Fascinated by comics since his youth, François Walthéry took lessons at the Institut Saint-Luc in Liège in 1962. In the same year, working with scenario writer Mittéï (pseudonym: Pop's), he created his first comic, 'Pipo'. A year later, Walthéry became an assistant to Peyo, working on 'The Smurfs' ('Les Schtroumpfs'), 'Johan et Pirlouit' and 'Benoit Brisefer'. He also took over the series 'Jacky et Célestin' from Will. In 1970, Walthéry started his most famous series, 'Natacha', in Spirou. For this series, about a stewardess, Walthéry worked with a lot of scenarists, including Gos, Peyo, Tillieux, Cauvin and Wasterlain. Although 'Natacha' is his most important series, Walthéry has made some others, like 'Le Vieux Bleu' (1974, scenario Cauvin), 'Petit Bout d'Chique' (1975) and 'Rubine' (1993). François Walthéry is a prominent representative of the classical Belgian style. Source: www.lambiek.net Social/Sharing |
