The intro sequence to UXM 240 is a fantastic example of storytelling. Silvestri is known for action but here he is truly cunning, like using different dresses for Madelyne (a hint to Phoenix's power display in Byrne's run?) and subtle displays of New York's demonization. There is a clear reference to Jean and Scott's date way back in XM 97, when the whole Jean / Phoenix story started, really. Claremont comes full circle so many years later. Timeless.
Really enjoyed the twisted Alex and Madelyne love story and this early page of their history together captures a few nice moments.
