Description

I found this lovely ink cartoon on eBay. I love the little birds and the severe perspective. I had never heard of Gee, but something was rattled in the back of my mind. I did some research and found that Gee created one of my favorite creations from childhood: The Timbertoes. The Timbertoes appeared monthly in Highlights magazine and I loved the wonderful ink drawings of Gee. He was a terrific artist, as is evidenced in this early cartoon by him.

I love the birds. No really, those are ridiculously cool birds. Very Arthur Rackham. I think all of the experiences and influences of childhood lodge in the back of our brains and wait for appropriate moments to reassert themselves, LIKE NOW! Total score!!
