I always thought tat background was a photocopy, looks drawn though. Killer Splash. Probably the best of his AMS run.

I thought that too- has a past up feel or a traced photo? Whatever it is works we'll win the spidey image -this part of his amazing run is McFarlane at his best imo. Thanks for sharing

It's one of my favorite spider-man pages, by anyone and an example of how to use stats effectively. It doesn't clash with his art but increases the power of the image to produce an overall effect that draws us into the story. Todd had the magic touch. Pencils and inks, 14 issues a year working off plots that were often visually demanding. Most artists fade over the course of a long monthly run by Mcfarlane's work got better right to the end. There's a reason his work commands the prices at auction it does. Congrats and thanks for sharing this gem.

Still one of my favorite MCfarlane images, I would have loved to see Todd incorporate more photorealism into his backgrounds, like this. It really highlights his awesome cartooning skills

Spectacular! Spidey swinging through the cityscape ... and Mcfarlane did it best. Your TF collection is fantastic!

I really can't believe this isn't a cover. Has to be the best McSpidey image I've ever seen.

This is one of the best if not THE Best Mcfarlane pages that I ever saw. I am so tied of the word "iconic" but there is no other more appropriate word. Damn I am jealous.
