Description

Master Mind Excello Mystic Comics #2 – 3 (April 1940 – June 1940).
Master Mind Excello is a perfect example of the unusual twist that the characters in Mystic Comics tended to have. Government intelligence operatives, G-Men and the like were common enough fodder in comics of the era, but Excello wasn't part of that ordinary rank and file. He was Napoleon Solo – but with super powers.
Excello was a top agent for Navel Intelligence taking on the spies and saboteurs who dared to plot against America. Like the traditional super spy, Excello was an ace pilot, a master of disguise, a crack shot and had access to the usual fantastic spy gadgets. However he also had superior physical strength and telepathic powers that allowed him to read minds and witness events before they happened. It was never clear whether Excello actually was society playboy Earl Everett, or if Everett was just a cover he used.
In his initial adventure he defeats a plot by "Sovernian" agents (this was 1940 and America wasn't officially at war with Germany yet) to detonate explosives hidden beneath every major US city and in his final outing he routs a gang of saboteurs working to destabilize America's railway transportation system.
