I'm a huge fan of John Romita Sr. and one of his favorite covers that I loved was #100. Over the years there were 2 homages that I was aware of by Leinil Yu and Mark Bagley. So I decided to go with John Romita Jr for this attempt and he just blew it out of the park. I had him do the main Spidey Charachter while other artists will do the head shots. I was also Lucky That David Finch was not busy and let him pick two of the charachters on it. Of course he would Pick Doom and the Green Goblin. Thanks Again to John and Kathy for making this happen!!!

Mike, this piece rocks. What a great idea. I remember you mentioning this to me at the show, but I did not really imagine it. Once it is done it is going to look fabulous.

Very nice. I had the exact same idea back in 2001 and got Romita Sr to illustrate the exact same Spidey pose from issue #100. Like you, I wanted other artists to illustrate characters around the main Spidey figure, but decided against it for several reasons.
