DescriptionI always take the opportunity to view Mark's art when I get the chance. I was very successful in 1997 and saw this page in his portfolio in 2003. I could not pass up this page with Governor Dahlgren, Hannah Dundee, and a coelacanth. Remember scholastic book clubs from elementary school? Mark and my brother Stuart both read their book Living Fossil as children. The artist told us he used to paint coelacanths while learning Japanese sumi-e painting. The page dates from the early nineties.Mark's Xenozoic Tales comic book stories are collected in the single volume Xenozoic from Flesk Publications. John Fleskes also publishes Schultz's multi-volume Various Drawings. Mark illustrated Charles R. Knight: Autobiography of an Artist from Jim Ottaviani's G.T. Labs in Ann Arbor. Social/Sharing |
