Description
This is quite a poignant page. At this time Metamorpho was dead and his son Joey had wished for his dad "back" (there were some otherdimensional beings around granting peoples subconscious desires at the time - a couple of them are seen in the last panel). The wish pulled Metamorpho out the grave and back home. At this point in the story Metamorpho has reached his house but at the same point the beings undo their 'spells'. Wonder Woman just has time to hear Metamorpho cry his sons name as his form disperses and she touches his face, realizing who it is. When Metamorpho's wife asks what he said even Diana, who it appears is now fighting back her own emotions, can't bring herself to tell the truth, one of the very few times she's seen deliberately lying and an illustration of Wonder Woman's tenderness that is not often seen due to the (mistaken) penchant of showing her as the ice princess. Also present on this page Superman, Batman, Green Lantern (Kyle), Aquaman, Plastic Man, Flash, Martian Manhunter. Whenever I look at this page my eye is always drawn to panel 4, a lovely profile shot by Hitchy.
