DescriptionThis cartoon features Sorel's wonderfully active pen work, and biting satire. It also features Sorel himself in every panel. I don't know where the piece appeared (Mr. Sorel could not remember either), but it has the flavor of one of his pieces from The Nation. Given the guy with the boom box, I'm guessing that the piece ran in the 1980s.Social/Sharing |

This is funny, this is intelligent, this is incredibly well drawn. I'll buy all his books, right now!

In my youth, I would have shrugged my shoulders at a cartoon by a scratchy penman foisting an old man's lament on my younger sensibilities. Now, in my middle-age, I just mentally substitute words for "frozen orange juice" & rock" while noting how the jumbo jet thing needed no substitute (the only change for us lemmings was for the worse). Anyway, I guess you really can't stop progress.
