Description
This was mis-identified in a Heritage auction as Mac Pakula. It's all Al Hartley, pencils and inks, doing the kind of great war artwork that he is not well known for.

BATTLE was Timely-Atlas' longest running war comic, lasting 70 issues from 1951 to 1960. #5 (Nov/51) was a great issue featuring 2 Joe Maneely stories, one by Syd Shores' studio mate Norman Steinberg, and one by Al Hartley. Hartley is better known for his work on teen-humor material like PATSY WALKER but was in fact a dynamic adventure artist in war titles like this and also in western feature like BLACK RIDER.
