DescriptionA few years ago, Paul Dini and I pitched an idea for a retro Batman story to DC featuring Zatanna, the Riddler, and Ras Al Ghul. I did this piece for the pitch, just to sell the look we wanted to go for. Unfortunately, DC passed. This would have been a fun book!Social/Sharing |

Nicely done! What was DC thinking? Jeeez...
This pitch pre-dated Darwyn Cooke's New Frontier by under a year, so I've always wondered if they had that in the works and didn't want to have two retro stories out around the same time.

Very interesting! Still a shame to think that both couldn't exist together or build off of each others audience. Clearly NF showed there was a place for retro stories. Either way, this is a beautiful piece of art and I can only dream of what fun you and Dini would have had! Thanks so much for sharing!
