Description
The "Streets of San Francisco" piece underwent considerably more changes. This (I believe) is the early of the two prelims, and is much closer to what I'd described to Neil - with DD leaping from atop a trolley in the background, and then using a "strobe" effect to show DD's path toward the viewer, ending up atop the thugs car in the foreground.

While I really dig the final version, the dynamic flow of this prelim really strikes a chord with me. It exhibits an elegant synergy between Neil's superb ability to convey emotion from strong characterization and a nostalgic nod to Gene "The Dean's" peerless use of the ol' DD 'ghost trail' effect to highlight his acrobatic fluidity through space. Thanks for sharing this version with us, Craig.

ah yes-follow the demented stages of the artist's mind in all it's confusing glory-lol-why we pick a composition or design is a mystery,ain't it? that strobe effect you mentioned is something i loved using in the NINJAK series i did years ago-the hero did a LOT of leaping about on rooftops and such, so it worked nicely...;o)
