Description

I have an incredible wife who is very supportive of the hobby, she knows the characters names, even the names of most artist and inkers. She also became a fan of the JLA animated series and subsequently a fan of Black Canary. The fact that Ollie and Dinah got married the same year as we did tickled her because my favorite DC character since childhood has always been Green Arrow.

In fact I tried to buy her a page from one of the wedding books late last year but could not close the deal. So here we were walking by the different booths and we scan Karl Story’s wares and there in front of us is this incredible splash from the Wedding Album book. I had some money that was directed toward something else but asked Amy if she wanted it? Amy said lets think about it and sometime Friday night she said if it was available the next day she’d like the page or at the least a panel page from the book. I agreed and Karl was our second stop of the day Saturday. Turns out most of the panel pages were being held for someone else but the action splash of Ollie and Dinah and the Lingerie page were still available. I asked Karl for a price on the action splash as Amy reminded Karl we were newlyweds and this would be framed in our house ( news to me.) Karl quoted us a price that was fair and I bought the page, deciding since this made Amy happy I’d pass on the other project I was hoping to get. I made sure Karl personalized it to us both and can assure you that this piece has gone into the much discussed black hole of collecting.
