DescriptionThis is Michael at the 2007 San Francisco Wonder Con with the Soulfire page that I bought at that show. I went to that show with the Intentions of getting a piece from Michael as I did not own anything from him yet. Frank was great in helping me find something and then introduced me to Michael for some small talk and getting the piece signed. Michael was a great artist and I did not fully realize this piece I bought until I went to Hawaii 4 monthes later and while I was there I saw a helm just like the one in the art! I told my wife, check out this helm and don't forget it until we get home and I'll show you something. When we got home and I brought out the art, she instantly recognized the helm from seeing it in Hawaii. This picture is being posted the day of Michael's passing and like many others, I have to say that my one meeting with him was a most pleasurable one and someone that will be truley missed by all. I hope he has found his Paradise!Social/Sharing |

Even though I never had the pleasure of meeting Michael in person, every account I've heard from fans have been extremely positive. No matter how big his star got, he always showed appreciation and respect to his fans. A lot of creators could learn a lot from his example. He will be missed.

A great guy, every time I saw him at the Pittsburgh Comicon he had a big smile on his face and he and his studio always donated big time to the charity auction. Rest in peace.

I still feel the same sadness I felt when I heard of his deparure... I was inspired by his style and that simplified my penciling... You are lucky to meet him... He must be in paradise since he did his best for others... and stood up till the end.. He deserved to live more...

I too remember that day, I got a photo with him with my eyes closed lol. When seeing this photo I remember(his shirt lol, his smile, his condition, but most importantly him being so kind like if you were the only person that mattered. Thank you for sharing & reminding me of this day.
