Description
Phil May's seminal book was Guttersnipes, published in 1896. It depicted the lives of children living in the slums at the time. May's drawings never denigrated the kids, but presented them as full of life, while still painting an honest depiction of life on the streets. This particular drawing is titled "Leap Frog".
