Issue 54 was a tie-in to Brian Meltzer's "Identity Crisis" storyline in 2004 where it was revealed that ineptitude of the villainous Dr. Light (Arthur Light) was due to brainwashing by the Justice League. The other Dr. Light (Kimiyo Hoshi) was a heroine empowered by the Monitor during "Crisis on Infinite Earths". In this issue, with his intellect restored, the first Dr. Light attacked his female namesake and absorbed her powers (she regains them later in time to participate in the Battle of Metropolis in "Infinite Crisis"). In later issues of this title, Mirror Master and Killer Frost face off against Green Arrow and Black Lightning while the augmented Dr. Light tries to kill Connor Hawke and Speedy.
