Description

I was on line for a sketch and had no idea what to ask for. Then I flipped through my copy of The Barefoot Serpent and it clicked (the book talks a lot about Kurosawa, hence me thinking of samurai) And Scott absolutely blew me away with the widescreen style and the leaves and the bird lighting on the katana. Beautiful work. One of my favorite sketches in my collection.

edit: I was recently on Matt Wagner's message board and he mentioned he owns the page of Barefoot Serpent featuring the Seven Samurai, so I said that page inspired me to get this sketch. So then Matt said that he and Scott have a super-secret upcoming project and Matt referenced this Usagi piece in their discussions.
