Joe Wherle's famous portrait of the great American Weird Fantasy writer Clark Ashton Smith. Along with H.P.Lovecraft & Robert E. Howard, Smith was one of the 3 "Weird Tales" magazine Musketeers... [:-) Joe Wherle did this magnificent hyper-detailed portrait, as cover to the famous (for Smith's Fans) Mirage Press book "Planets and Dimensions", back in the Seventies. As a long, long time C.A.Smith's fan, I'm very proud to have catched it at last...!
