Mark Schultz: 'Xenozoic Express' prelim

Mark Schultz's signature 'Xenozoic Tales' - also known as 'Cadillacs & Dinosaurs' - are for me like modern-day Alex Raymond, Hal Foster or Al Williamson. Masterful.
So cool how Mark Schultz's pencils here make for such a tight, elegant image. In his lush pages and covers one can often see his aim for a balanced out coherence of composition, form and detail. In more simple illo's such as this prelim, I can see it still!
I feel priviliged to own a Schultz and was able to have him sign this piece at Breda 2010 on March 6th. Very likeable guy indeed and seeming extremely dedicated to his work.
