Description

Drawn in Toronto, August 1999 by "Yummy Fur" creator Chester Brown. Best known for his independent classics "Ed the Happy Clown" and "I Never Liked You", Chet Brown was promoting his award winning "Louis Riel" book when I first met him in 1999. He was drawing the historical story of a French Revolutionary leader who remeans controversial in Canada to this day. Chet drew the series in the fashion of "Little Orphan Annie" creator Harold Grey and although not appearing in the Louis Riel book, the figure in this drawing is an example of Harold Grey's style that Chet was attempting to copy at that time in his career.
