Gregor Duncan - WWII Welder - C. 1943

A wonderful pen and brush drawing of a welder by Gregor Duncan. This was drawn at Chanute Field, in Illinois, and was done for Army Air Corps public relations arm. The caption that accompanies the artwork states: "A student in the AAF Technical Training Command Aircraft Welder's School at Chanute Field sketched as he finishes up a problem in electric welding. Pupils are given problems in the course typical of what they may encounter later with tactical units at the front."

Since Duncan was not transferred overseas until late in 1943, I believe this piece to be circa 1943.
