Description

Enrique Villagran is a little-known artist in the States (he only worked on about a couple dozen low-profile books), but he's the man who made -under the scripts of legendary writer Robin Wood- Nippur Of Lagash one of the greatest South-American adventure series ever.

If you have Enrique Villagran art available, please let me know.

The low number of visits the other Nippur piece received didn't go unnoticed on me, so I'm putting up another beautiful page that will get -in a year- the same number of hits a silly naked and badly-drawn Catwoman will receive in a couple hours.

On a less disparaging commentary, I just love the muscular lankiness of Nippur, a sure sign of an hardened warrior who gets by on just a bit more than scraps (actually, as he himself explains during his rare breaks, cheese, olives, bread and sour wine). Scraps that the skeletal dog would kill for.

Cristian from Argentina wrote to me some time ago: "Hi Enrico, sorry, only one question, I think this page was created by Ricardo Villagran (instead Enrique) are you sure this one was created by Enrique? Regards!"

Cristian, thanks for telling me: all I can say is that getting correct credits on Argentinian art, unless one owns the splash page, is damn hard. Euracomics only credited a single artist even if there were more than one in a collections, so I'm basing my descriptions are based on what's on the cover of the book... :(

Great page ! I know what you feel about the visits... my Nippur page by Lucho Olivera has also very few visits too!!!!! Un abrazo !
