Description

I undertook this recreation for several reasons. . . I find that recreating a piece gives me insight into the creator's process, and I can't afford a prime Mignola piece right now. Several times during this recreation, I stopped and marvelled at Mignola's moves. His ability to convey shapes with the barest amount of information inspires me to no end.

Holy crap! That's an unbelievably good Mignola recreation. At first, I was like, "Man, how in the world did the good Doctor land an original Mignola?!" Then I thought, "I may be even more impressed that this is NOT a Mignola original." Nice work, Doc!

In the back of "Hellboy : The Island" trade paperback are pencil only pages of an unfinished hellboy story that Mike scrapped and decided to start over. I think inking over these pencils is going to give you even more insight into his art than inking over his inks..... I like what I see so far! Keep going!
