I picked this up at the 2009 New York comic con. It is the first prelim that I have had the pleasure of buying directly from Brian. Thanks Brian and thanks Chris.

This is a pencil prelim to a cover with an interesting back story. The final art was used for the cover of 2000 AD Prog 77. This Prog along with a few others contained the banned Judge Dredd Cursed Earth episodes. 2000AD were prohibited to reproduce the art due to copyright infringement as they had used characters such as Ronald McDonald, Burger King, the Michelin Man and the Jolly Green Giant.

When I selected this piece, Brian was kind enough to say I had chosen well from his portfolio. But when you are flipping through pages of Bolland's work, was it really that hard to pick a winner?

I presume you noticed that the comic title page from the issue for which this is the cover prelim from went for 10,000 dollars recently. Sadly prelims are never worth anything like as much but as least you know you got a good one.
