DescriptionAn original finished piece of John Buscema Tarzan art is something that has eluded me so far. To me, his short stint with this character is one of the best renditions of Tarzan ever. So when I landed Big John’s rough for this pin-up, I contacted Bob McLeod to lightbox it and do a finish for me. My request to Bob: “Please give the impression of more beastmen. Three beastmen is not enough to hold Tarzan captive. You don’t have to draw more beastmen, just give the impression of more beastmen (via shadows, additional spears coming in from off-camera, etc.)" So I was surprised (and delighted) when he not only drew more beastmen, he aped Mr. B’s style so perfectly, you can’t even tell they weren’t part of the original composition!
