Description

In 1982 Dan Dare returned in the "New" Eagle. I'd read Dan Dare from annuals and collections I'd bought from a second hand book store, this was a big event for a comic fan of a certain age at the time, and obviously myself.

This is page 3 of "Return of the Mekon" by Gerry Embleton, who soon after gave the reins to Ian Kennedy, with equally great art. Had this on my want list suffixed with "as if", before stumbling randomly on this NFS page on the web. Thanks to Darryl for parting with this. Now I wonder where the other two pages are....... :)

Incidentally in the 1st issue of the Eagle this was also the back cover. My large scanner wasn't big enough to get all the image in, but it is mostly present.

Hi Paul! The rebirth of Eagle was a very big deal for me at the time as well!! I remember this page as if it were yesterday!..... A true slice of comic book history.... Love it!!!!!

It is a bit of a mystery where all the New Eagle Dare pages are. There should be many hundreds of pages.
